DAILY VERSE · Day 267

Give Him the Way

Living Trust

Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him, and he will act.
PSALM 37:5 · ESV

Commit your way to the Lord. Not just your feelings, or your prayers, or your good intentions — your way, the actual road you're walking, the decisions you're weighing right now. That's a bigger ask than it sounds like at first.

Most of us are fine handing God the parts of life we've already figured out. It's the unresolved parts — the job we're not sure about, the relationship we can't read, the plan that keeps falling apart — that we tend to hold onto tightest, as if our grip is what's keeping things from collapsing.

This verse suggests the opposite: that things move when you loosen your grip, not when you tighten it. "He will act" isn't a guarantee of a specific outcome. It's a claim that you're not actually carrying this alone, even if it feels that way. Whether that claim is trustworthy is worth testing rather than assuming either way.

If you've been white-knuckling a decision that isn't budging, it might be worth asking who this God actually is before you keep gripping alone.

A short video on this is coming soon — for now, read on.
