DAILY VERSE · Day 266

All Things Through Him

Strength in Christ

I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
PHILIPPIANS 4:13 · ESV

"I can do all things through him who strengthens me." It gets quoted on posters and coffee mugs so often it can start to sound like a hollow slogan. But Paul wrote it from prison, talking about learning to be content whether he had plenty or nothing at all. It isn't a promise that you'll win. It's a claim that you can hold steady no matter what.

That's a different kind of strength than the one we usually chase — the kind that comes from having enough resources, enough control, enough certainty. This is strength that shows up specifically when those things run out.

If your life right now feels like it's running on empty, this verse isn't asking you to fake confidence you don't have. It's pointing to a source of strength that doesn't originate in you at all — which means it's worth asking whether that source is real before you decide the verse is just wishful thinking.

It's fair to wonder where a strength like that actually comes from — Jesus is where that question leads.

A short video on this is coming soon — for now, read on.
