Full Redemption

Sufficient Grace

In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace.
EPHESIANS 1:7 · ESV

Redemption is a word that assumes something needed buying back. Nobody redeems what was never lost. So this verse starts from an honest place — it doesn't pretend everything's fine, it names forgiveness of trespasses as the actual point, the thing that had to happen for any of the rest to make sense.

What's easy to miss is the phrase "according to the riches of his grace." Not a small allowance, not the bare minimum needed to cover the debt — riches. The measure of the forgiveness matches the scale of what's being forgiven, not the other way around. That's a different math than most of us run on ourselves, where the mistake sets the ceiling on how forgiven we're allowed to feel.

If guilt is something you carry quietly, this verse is worth reading slowly — it's not minimizing what's wrong, it's naming what's available anyway.

If guilt has quietly capped how forgiven you think you're allowed to be, this might be worth a closer look.

A short video on this is coming soon — for now, read on.
