Discovering Jesus Together
DAILY VERSE · Day 147

Hear and Keep

Courage to Obey

Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!
LUKE 11:28 · ESV

You'd expect the blessing here to land on the people who saw the miracles — the crowds who watched Jesus heal, feed, and teach in person. Instead, He redirects it somewhere quieter: toward whoever actually listens and lets it change something.

That's a relief if you think about it. It means proximity isn't the point. You don't need front-row access, a dramatic experience, or years of religious background. What matters is whether the words land somewhere real — whether you let them sit long enough to actually do something, instead of just filing them away as information.

Most of us have heard plenty of good ideas we never acted on. This verse isn't really about hearing at all — it's about the rare, harder thing of letting what you hear rearrange your life even slightly.

If something you've heard about Jesus has ever actually stuck with you, it might be worth finding out what it would mean to let it in further.

A short video on this is coming soon — for now, read on.
