Every Need Met

Generous and Content

My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
PHILIPPIANS 4:19 · ESV

"Every need" is a big promise, and it's fair to be suspicious of big promises — especially ones about money or provision, which get abused constantly. But look closely at what's actually said here: not every want, every need. And the source isn't described as a blank check, but "his riches in glory," something specific and personal, not vague good vibes.

This verse was written by a man in prison, writing to people who had just sacrificed to help him — so it's not a slogan from someone comfortable and detached. It comes from someone who had genuinely gone without, telling people who'd just given generously that the God they trusted wouldn't leave them empty for it.

That's a claim worth testing against reality rather than dismissing outright. Not everyone who trusts this verse gets rich. But there's a difference between provision and luxury, and it's worth asking what this verse is actually promising before deciding whether to believe it.

If you've ever wondered whether there's a God who actually notices what you're short on, that question deserves more than a quick dismissal.

A short video on this is coming soon — for now, read on.
