Cast your burden on the LORD, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.
Everyone's carrying something. Some of it is visible — the job, the diagnosis, the relationship that's falling apart. Some of it stays hidden, the private weight you haven't told anyone about because you're not sure how to say it out loud. Either way, you know what it's like to just get tired of holding it.
This verse doesn't say get rid of the burden or pretend it doesn't exist. It says cast it — hand it off, deliberately, to Someone else. And it makes a specific promise in return: He will sustain you. Not remove the situation necessarily, but hold you up under the weight of it.
That's a big claim to make about anyone, let alone someone you can't see. But it's worth asking honestly: what would actually change if you tried handing the weight over, instead of gripping it a little tighter, the way you usually do?
