DAILY VERSE · Day 304

Good to All

Persevering Love

The LORD is good to all, and his mercy is over all that he has made.
PSALM 145:9 · ESV

"Good to all" is a bigger claim than it first sounds. Not good to the people who've earned it, not good to the ones who show up religiously, not good conditionally. All. That word doesn't leave much room for the quiet suspicion a lot of people carry — that they're somewhere outside the circle of who God actually cares about.

And then the second half widens even further: mercy over all He has made. Not just people who believe the right things or live the right way. Everything that exists, apparently, exists inside the reach of that compassion.

If you've ever assumed God's kindness is reserved for people who've already got it figured out spiritually, this verse pushes back on that directly. It doesn't say good to the deserving. It says good to all — which, if it's true, includes you exactly as you are right now, not some cleaned-up future version of you.

If you've quietly assumed you're outside the reach of God's goodness, this verse is worth reading again with your own name in it.

A short video on this is coming soon — for now, read on.
