For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.
"His steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations." Endures forever is a claim most things in life can't make. Relationships end. Jobs change. Even the people who love us best have limits to how consistent they can be, because they're human too.
This verse is making a claim about something that doesn't run on the same terms — a love not subject to mood, fatigue, or circumstance, faithful not just to you in this one moment but across generations, long stretches of time that outlast any single life.
It's a big claim, and big claims deserve scrutiny rather than easy acceptance. But if it's true, it changes what you're allowed to lean on. Most of what we build our security around is fragile by nature. This describes something that isn't.
If everything you've leaned on so far has eventually let you down, it might be worth examining a love that claims not to.
