Love Without End

Deep Roots

For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.
PSALM 100:5 · ESV

"Endures forever" is easy to say and hard to actually picture. We're used to things that last a while and then don't — loyalty that holds until it's inconvenient, love that's real until it costs too much. This verse is making a claim that doesn't have a natural comparison in most people's experience: a love with no expiration built into it at all.

And it's not vague about who it covers. "His faithfulness to all generations" means it isn't just about the people it was written for three thousand years ago. It was built to reach forward, generation after generation, arriving eventually at whoever happens to be reading it — which today includes you.

That's either wildly overstated or the most stable thing available to stand on. It's worth finding out which.

If most of what's been loyal to you has had a limit, a love with none of those limits is worth a second look.

A short video on this is coming soon — for now, read on.
