Bread of Life

Daily Bread

I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.
JOHN 6:35 · ESV

Everybody eats every day, whether or not they think about it. That ordinariness is exactly the point of calling something "daily bread" — it's not a luxury you reach for occasionally, it's the thing your body needs on a repeating, non-negotiable schedule.

Jesus applies that same rhythm to himself: come to me, and you won't hunger, won't thirst — not once, but as an ongoing reality, the way bread meets an ongoing need. That's a claim about daily sustenance, not a one-time transaction. It suggests something you'd return to again and again, the way you return to the table every day without shame or hesitation.

If your experience of spiritual things has always felt like an occasional, special-occasion thing, this verse points somewhere more mundane and more available — something meant to be as regular as your next meal.

If faith has always felt like something reserved for special occasions, it might be worth imagining what a daily version of it could actually look like.

A short video on this is coming soon — for now, read on.
