Discovering Jesus Together
DAILY VERSE · Day 150

I Will Instruct You

Pray Then Act

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.
PSALM 32:8 · ESV

Notice the order in this verse: instruction and teaching come first, then counsel, and only then does it mention God's eye staying on you. It's not surveillance — it's closer to attention. The kind someone gives when they actually care whether you get where you're going.

Most guidance in life comes with strings attached, or it's vague enough to be useless — a fortune-cookie version of advice. This is different in tone: specific enough to be real teaching, patient enough to keep watching after the lesson's given, in case you need to be steered again.

If you've ever wished someone reliable was actually paying attention to your life — not judging it, just watching closely enough to help — that's worth sitting with, whatever you currently believe about who might be doing the watching.

If the idea of being watched over with patience instead of judgment sounds foreign but appealing, it might be worth finding out where that idea comes from.

A short video on this is coming soon — for now, read on.
