In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
This verse doesn't say preach, argue, or convince. It says let your light shine — so people see your good works. There's something almost passive about it, like light doesn't try hard to be seen, it just is, and everything nearby is affected by it whether or not it announces itself.
If you've ever felt pressure to have all the right words, all the theological answers, before you could talk about faith at all, this verse offers a different door. Sometimes the most convincing thing isn't an argument. It's a life that's simply consistent — kindness that doesn't have an angle, integrity that doesn't waver depending on who's watching.
You don't need a perfect explanation of what you believe to let something good be visible in how you actually live. The light isn't required to defend itself. It just has to not be hidden.
If you've been waiting to have the right words before your life could speak for itself, that wait might not be necessary.
A short video on this is coming soon — for now, read on.
