If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.
There's a strange claim buried in this verse: if you've been raised with Christ, your attention belongs somewhere else now — not fixed on the ground beneath your feet, but on where He is. It's not asking you to ignore your life. It's asking where your mind actually rests when nothing is demanding it.
Most of us are set on earthly things by default — bills, screens, the next thing to fix. Not because we're bad people, but because that's what's right in front of us. This verse suggests there's another gravity available, one pulling upward instead of down into the noise.
You don't have to have this sorted out to notice the pull. Maybe it starts as nothing more than a question: what would it feel like to set your mind on something above the mess for five minutes today?
If your mind feels permanently stuck on the ground, it might be worth exploring what Jesus meant when He talked about a life pulled toward something higher.
A short video on this is coming soon — for now, read on.
