For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
This might be the most quoted line in the Bible, which means it's easy to stop actually hearing it. So slow down for a second. For God so loved the world — not the good half of it, not the people who had it figured out. The world, as it actually is.
That's the part worth sitting with if you're skeptical of religion, or tired of it, or just unsure what you think. This isn't a verse about God loving people who already love Him back. It's about a gift given first, to a world that hadn't asked for it and mostly wasn't looking for it.
Whoever believes — that's an open door, not a members-only sign. Not perish, but have life. You don't need a resume to walk through. You just need to be a person the world was actually loved enough to include.
If you've never asked what it would actually mean for that love to be real, that's a question worth sitting with.
A short video on this is coming soon — for now, read on.
