Discovering Jesus Together
DAILY VERSE · Day 34

God's Masterpiece

Who You Are in Christ

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
EPHESIANS 2:10 · ESV

"Workmanship" isn't a word you'd normally use for a person. It's a word for something made — a piece of art, a crafted object, something a maker stood back from and considered finished on purpose. It's an odd, almost artistic claim to make about a human life.

But it doesn't stop at being made — it says made for something, good works prepared in advance. Not works you have to invent from nothing to prove your worth, but a path already laid out before you ever showed up to walk it. That reframes the whole question of purpose: not "what will I make of myself" but "what was I already made for."

If you've spent years wondering whether your life adds up to anything, this verse makes a specific, almost audacious claim: that it was designed with intention long before you had any say in the matter. Whether that's true is worth finding out for yourself.

If you've ever wondered whether your life has a design behind it rather than being random, that question is worth taking further.

A short video on this is coming soon — for now, read on.
