The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
New every morning is a strange thing to say about mercy. Most things we rely on wear out — patience runs thin, second chances get harder to ask for, people eventually keep score. This verse is describing something that doesn't do that. Not mercy that's been stretched thin from overuse, but mercy that starts over, fresh, every single day.
If you've ever felt like you used up your chances — with someone, with yourself, maybe with God if you believe in one — this line is worth reading slowly. It's not saying the failures didn't matter. It's saying the supply doesn't run dry.
You don't have to have earned yesterday's mercy to receive today's. That's not how the verse is built. It just says: great is your faithfulness — this morning, regardless of how the last one went.
If you've been carrying the idea that you used up your chances, this might be worth a second, honest look.
A short video on this is coming soon — for now, read on.
