Discovering Jesus Together
DAILY VERSE · Day 272

Filled Each Morning

Grace Enough

Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
PSALM 90:14 · ESV

"Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love." Not at the end of the day, once everything's been earned or survived — first thing, before anything's been proven. That's an odd request if you think about it. It's asking to start the day full, not to fill up as a reward for getting through it.

Most of us do the opposite. We wake up and start calculating what we'll need to accomplish before we're allowed to feel okay about ourselves. Satisfaction becomes something you chase all day and rarely catch.

This verse is asking for something you don't produce yourself — a love that's already there when your eyes open, steady enough that joy doesn't have to wait for the day to justify it first.

If your mornings usually start empty rather than full, it might be worth asking whether that steadfast love is real before the day convinces you otherwise.

A short video on this is coming soon — for now, read on.
