DAILY VERSE · Day 181

My Lasting Strength

Be Strong and Take Heart

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
PSALM 73:26 · ESV

"My flesh and my heart may fail." It's a rare kind of honesty for something written thousands of years ago — no spin, no forced optimism. The body gives out. The heart, emotionally and sometimes literally, fails. This verse doesn't try to talk you out of that reality.

What it offers instead isn't a fix for the failing part. It's a different anchor entirely: God as "the strength of my heart and my portion forever." Not a replacement heart that never breaks, but something steady underneath the one that does.

As this month closes and you take stock of what held up and what didn't — energy, plans, resolve, maybe your own body — this verse doesn't ask you to pretend the failing parts aren't real. It just points to something that isn't asked to be flawless the way you are. If everything you're relying on right now feels like it's wearing thin, this is at least a different kind of thing to consider leaning on.

If you've been looking for something steady that doesn't wear out the way everything else does, that search is worth taking seriously.

A short video on this is coming soon — for now, read on.
