Seek First

Firm Foundations

Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
MATTHEW 6:33 · ESV

"Seek first" implies there are other things you could seek first instead — and most of us do, without ever deciding to. Security, approval, comfort, the next achievement. None of those are evil on their own. They just have a way of becoming the main thing by default, simply because nothing else was ever ranked higher.

This verse isn't asking you to abandon those needs. It's making a specific claim about order: put this one thing first, and the list of everything else you were anxiously chasing gets handled as a byproduct, not as the main event. That's either a wildly optimistic promise or a genuinely different way to structure a life — worth testing rather than just admiring from a distance.

You don't have to know exactly what "God's kingdom" means to notice what it would feel like to stop making everything else the first priority for once.

If you're tired of chasing a list of things that never seems to settle, it might be worth exploring what changes when one thing is put first.

A short video on this is coming soon — for now, read on.
