DAILY VERSE · Day 126

Serving Christ Himself

Faith at Work

Knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.
COLOSSIANS 3:24 · ESV

A hard boss, an unfair promotion cycle, work that doesn't get noticed — this verse doesn't fix any of that. But it does something else: it says there's a Boss above the boss, one who sees what actually happens at your desk and doesn't miss it.

That's a bold claim, and it's fair to be skeptical of it. But think about what it would mean if it were true — that the effort nobody applauds isn't wasted, that showing up with integrity when no one's watching isn't pointless. The reward described here isn't a bigger paycheck; it's an inheritance, something that outlasts the job entirely.

You don't have to buy the whole picture to feel the appeal of it: work that means something even when the human systems around it are unfair or indifferent. That's worth turning over in your mind, whether or not you've settled what you believe.

If the thought of unnoticed work actually mattering to someone speaks to you, that's a door worth walking through.

A short video on this is coming soon — for now, read on.
